About the Forex Lounge
Institutional experience. No agenda.
The Forex Lounge was founded by Greg, a former investment banker with over 20 years of experience in the financial markets. Not to sell a strategy or run a signal group. To give serious traders the preparation framework, risk discipline, and honest assessment that the industry rarely offers.
The insight behind The Forex Lounge
Good traders were failing for the wrong reasons.
Over 20 years of involvement in financial markets, including time spent working within a professional investment banking environment, makes certain patterns very difficult to ignore. How institutional trading environments actually operate. The risk frameworks, the performance disciplines, the structured processes that allow people to make sound decisions under pressure, within defined parameters, consistently. None of it is particularly complicated. But it requires a level of preparation and structure that most retail traders have never been taught to build.
When the prop firm space came into focus, one thing became apparent almost immediately. Traders were not failing because their strategy was fundamentally unsound, or because they lacked the ability to read a market. They were failing because they arrived at a professional evaluation environment without the preparation it demands. Trading with the same habits they had always had, inside a ruleset they did not fully understand, with no honest framework for reviewing their own decisions or recognising where their behaviour was working against them.
The Forex Lounge was built to address that directly. Not as another strategy course, not as a signal group, and not with exaggerated promises about what prop firm trading can deliver. As a grounded, practical preparation programme built around the specific disciplines that determine whether a serious trader is genuinely ready for a funded environment.
The person behind the programme
Credentials built in the market. Not around it.
Greg began his professional career at a major US investment bank, where he spent a number of years working across the trading desk before progressing into the fund management department. That environment provided direct, practical exposure to how capital is deployed, managed, and protected at an institutional level. The risk disciplines, the performance standards, and the analytical rigour expected in that context are not theoretical constructs. They are daily operating requirements.
Following his time in institutional finance, Greg has spent the subsequent years trading independently, primarily with his own capital. That work has never been passive. Alongside active trading, he has continued to develop systematic strategies and algorithmic models, applying the same structured, rules-based approach to his own book that he had observed and worked within professionally. It is from this combination of institutional grounding and sustained independent practice that the TFL methodology draws its foundation.
Greg has passed challenges with multiple leading prop firms, including FTMO, The5ers, and E8 Funding. With FTMO he holds the maximum allocated capital available under their programme. With The5ers he completed every stage of the Bootcamp track. With E8 he is currently operating at a $200,000 allocation. These are active, funded positions, not historic achievements. Greg is trading in the same environment he prepares TFL members to enter.
FTMO
Maximum allocated capital. Multiple challenges passed.
The5ers
All stages of the Bootcamp programme completed.
E8
Currently active. $200,000 allocation.
The prop firm model is built on a straightforward commercial reality: the majority of traders who attempt a challenge do not pass it. The firms themselves are structured around that outcome. What Greg observed, however, was that a meaningful proportion of those failing traders were not failing because of a flawed strategy. They were failing because of inadequate risk management, poor preparation, and an approach to the challenge that was incompatible with the environment they were entering. For those traders who regard prop firm funding as a serious objective, whether as a secondary income or as the basis of a full-time trading career, that is a solvable problem. The Forex Lounge exists to solve it.
What we stand for
A small number of principles, held consistently.
The Forex Lounge is not built around a large number of promises. It is built around a small number of principles that are applied consistently across everything the programme offers. They are worth stating plainly, because they explain both what to expect from TFL and what not to expect.
Process before results
Results in trading are not directly controllable. The quality of the process behind them is. TFL focuses on preparation, structure, and risk discipline: the variables a trader can actually govern. A sound process, consistently applied, gives results the best conditions to develop. Chasing results without that foundation is not a strategy. It is a habit that funded environments will expose.
Honesty over hype
The trading education industry tends to overstate what is achievable and understate what is required. TFL takes the opposite approach. No promises are made about passing rates, income potential, or outcomes. What is promised is an honest, thorough assessment of where a trader stands and what specifically needs to change. That is a more useful thing to offer, and a more defensible one.
Risk as a discipline
In an institutional environment, risk management is not applied loosely around a trading idea. It is the framework within which every decision is made. TFL brings that standard to prop firm preparation. Position sizing, drawdown limits, and loss recovery rules are not secondary considerations. They are the primary ones. A trader without genuine risk discipline is not ready for a funded evaluation.
Professional preparation
Most traders understand what they need to achieve in a prop firm challenge. Far fewer have considered how their current process interacts with the specific rules of the evaluation they are entering. Understanding the ruleset in full, stress-testing the risk model, and building a structured routine before the challenge begins are not optional steps. They are the foundation of a credible attempt.
Honest self-assessment
Most traders review what they traded. Very few review how they traded. The distinction matters. Identifying a losing trade is straightforward. Understanding the decision process that produced it, and whether that process is systematically undermining performance, requires a review discipline most traders have never been taught. At TFL, honest review of execution is a baseline, not an advanced skill.
Respect for the trader
The traders who come to TFL are serious about what they are doing. They are not looking for reassurance or shortcuts. They want an honest assessment of their preparation and clear guidance on what to improve. TFL operates on the basis that they are capable of handling that assessment and acting on it. The programme does not flatter and does not tell people what they want to hear.
What we are not
Being direct about this is part of the same honesty.
Most businesses in the trading education space describe themselves in broad, aspirational terms that are difficult to evaluate and impossible to verify. TFL takes a different approach. Stating plainly what the programme is not makes it straightforward for the right traders to find it, and saves the wrong ones from a poor experience.
A signal service
TFL does not provide trading signals, buy or sell instructions, or any form of trade recommendation. The programme is focused on preparation, process, and risk management. Traders who are looking for signals to follow will not find them here.
A strategy course
A shortcut to funded capital
A programme for complete beginners
A source of guaranteed outcomes
No honest professional in financial markets can guarantee a specific result, and TFL will not claim otherwise. The programme offers the most thorough preparation framework it is possible to provide. Whether a trader passes their next challenge depends on market conditions, the quality of their execution, and factors outside anyone’s control.
A content or community business
TFL is not a social media brand, a YouTube channel, or a Discord community built around daily engagement. It is a focused preparation programme. The work happens in the audit, the assessment, and the review process, not in the accumulation of followers or the production of content for its own sake.
Where to go from here
If what you have read resonates, the next step is straightforward.
The Readiness Audit is the most direct way to begin. It is a one-to-one professional review of your trading plan, risk management, and challenge preparation, conducted by Greg personally. If you are not yet ready for that, the Weekly Market Briefing is free and gives you a clear picture of how TFL approaches the market before you commit to anything.
